At the start of 2009, the UNIQA Group entered into the Russian insurance
market with the founding of a life insurance company in Moscow. The
registration
of the company took place in January 2009, and the next step
is to apply for a license for insurance operations. The company is expected
to commence operations at the end of 2009. The focus of the company
will lie in the area of life insurance and cooperation with Raiffeisenbank in
Russia, within the framework of the Preferred Partnership.
